The five steps to good mental health and wellbeing
Connect– connect with the people around you through positive relationships that are characterised by trust, certainty and positivity
Be active– Find an activity that you enjoy and make it a part of your life
Keep learning– learning new skills can give you a sense of achievement and a new confidence
Give to others– even the smallest act can count, whether it’s a smile, a thank you or a kind word The PSHCE curriculum offer includes a recognition of how our positive actions can impact on others
Be mindful– be more aware of the present moment, including your thoughts and feelings, your body and the world around you. The PSHCE curriculum offer encourages pupils to develop the skills to overcome difficulties.
Equality objectives
At Alt Bridge School we value the diversity of backgrounds of all pupils, families and the wider school community.
British values
The PSHCE curriculum offer also helps the School to meet the statutory requirement to promote the British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs, and for those without faith. This helps prepares pupils for the future as UK citizens with rights and responsibilities such as voting, working, paying taxes and the use of free speech.
