Pupils and staff at Alt Bridge School are celebrating after receiving a prestigious Gold Artsmark Award.
Artsmark is the only creative quality standard for schools, accredited by Arts Council England. It transforms teaching through creativity, empowering teachers with the skills they need to embed arts, culture and creativity across the whole curriculum, and is proven to support pupil outcomes and wellbeing.
To achieve their Artsmark Award, Alt Bridge School had to develop their arts and cultural provision to embed a broad and ambitious curriculum. This was achieved by creating an overall plan that was committed to and delivered across the whole school.
Over two years, Alt Bridge School received professional support through an immersive learning programme from Artsmark’s delivery partner, Goldsmiths, University of London, who are world-renowned leaders in creative pedagogy and cultural placemaking.
“All pupils can access a consistent and diverse range of arts and cultural provision through work with local arts and cultural organisations, in school, and on visits outside the classroom, which leads to newly developed showcasing throughout school.” The Artsmark Assessor commended Alt Bridge School on the 29th November 2024.

Alt Bridge School has achieved Centre of Excellence status with Inclusion Quality Mark in recognition of our highly inclusive practice. The assessment report outlines so many strengths and we are so pleased with this outcome. We have now joined a network of inclusive schools up and down the country who are working every day to ensure the best provision for learners with additional needs.
Alt Bridge School are proud to have the work we undertaken in relation to mental health and wellbeing, recognised once again through the achievement of the wellbeing award. Our assessor commented that “Alt Bridge School places mental health and wellbeing at the core of all its activities, offering significant levels of provision for students”. We consistently prioritise mental health and wellbeing for our whole school community because we understand that this helps everyone to achieve their best possible outcomes.

Dear Parents
We are nearly at the end of the year and looking forwards to a bright and sunny summer. As with many young people our students will enjoy the free time and enjoy spending their time in the online world. It is important to set up parental controls and adjust privacy settings to provide your child with a safer online environment. Parental controls can help to protect your child from seeing something that they shouldn’t — although it is important to emphasise that no system is effective all of the time, so it is important to engage with your child and talk to them about their online life regularly.
We offer free training courses to all parents that will help you with making the right choices for you and your child. Click the link below and if you have a Microsoft or Google email logging in is as simple as a single click.
