Geography at Alt Bridge

Geography is about the world in which we live.
It is the study of landscapes, people, places and environments.

At Alt Bridge, pupils and staff are encouraged to see geography as underpinning a lifelong 'conversation' about the earth as the home of humankind. We aim to 'think geographically' about the changing world.

Geography at Alt Bridge is compulsory to the end of Key Stage 3 and offered as a Vocational Study option in KS4.

Pupils learn how places and landscapes are formed, how people and environments interact, and how economies, societies and geographical issues affect each other. Pupils learn to think spatially and use maps, visual images and new technologies and undertake field work investigations. Pupils are encouraged to make links between geography and other areas of the curriculum.
